Renew your tax credits or regret the consequences
HMRC is reminding tax credit recipients that you need to renew your claim by the end of this month to ensure that you have been paid and continue to be paid the right amount of money.
You should have received a renewal pack that contains an Annual Review notice (TC603R) and may also contain an Annual Declaration form (TC603D or TC603D2). If you haven’t received a pack then you should contact the tax credit helpline.
It is really important that you complete the renewal forms and there are some major consequences if you don’t. For a start your payments will stop and you may get asked to pay back previous overpayments or payments from the new tax year if HMRC applies old information.
