| Meetings with clients will be booked at mutually convenient times. | |
| All meetings at Lewis Smith offices will be held in a private room. | |
| All client problems will receive personal
attention from a partner or senior member of staff . | |
| Staff or partners will endeavour to meet at client premises if requested. | |
| Our reception will always be staffed to welcome visitors. | |
| All clients visiting will be greeted on reception and escorted to a meeting room. |
Telephone
| Incoming telephone calls will be answered within four rings. | |
| Calls will be returned on the same day by
the partner/member of staff they are intended for. If that person is out of the office they will be given a message to return that call on their arrival back. | |
| Clients are encouraged to telephone for support with any problems or queries. |
Accounts
|
Clients will always be given an estimated completion date for an accounts assignment. | |
| If during the course of the work, it becomes apparent that the completion date originally given will not be achieved, the firm will inform the client of this together with reasons why. | |
| Books and records that are being worked on in our offices will be stored safely and the client to whom they belong will be allowed access to them at any time. | |
| The firm will endeavour to complete an annual accounts preparation task within four to five weeks at the latest. | |
| Clients will be kept informed whilst their accounts are in progress. | |
| Accounts will not be released to any third party without a clients express permission. | |
| Final
accounts will be presented to clients in a manner that reflects the firms high
standards and professionalism. |
Correspondence
| All incoming post is sorted and distributed on the day it arrives in the office. | |
| Client e mails received will be replied to / acted upon within two working days. | |
| Our target turnaround period for postal correspondence is as follows: |
§ H M Inspector of Taxes – 10 working days
§ Clients and their agents – 5 working days
§ Banks, Other Government Departments etc. – 10 working days.
If unavoidable delays are likely the other party will be informed.
General
| Partners and staff members shall at all times act with honesty and integrity. | |

Advice given to clients will be objective and
independent, and will in particular be uninfluenced by any financial or personal interest. |
